Hello everyone reading this, I'll appologize before hand if I have posted this in the wrong section; Sorry. Well, I was in HA last night looking for some fame, 144 at the time, my message being: r2 144fame rc prot monk lf balance - can re-roll. I got a whisper from someome ~ no name~ omg dont you h8 noobs who are like 1 fame away from r3 who prolly have 1 fame. I responded asking if he was talking about me, He said omg your clearly a noob. I told him nicely that i have played gw since last christmas and that i have a extensive knowledge of the skills, builds and tactics used in HA. he said omg i have 5 characters who have finished prophesies and factions and all have fow~ fing noob... i asked him why he was being so rude and he simply replied with stfu noob go back to random arenas and learn how to play the game. i totally understand that i could be a "noob" with 0fame that could ruin the team but is it any of his/hers business? i mean.. if i show that i am completely hopeless at HA the team will see in the first match and they can kick me. can someone tell me if they have experienced this before? im very curious as to why he/she felt like saying that to me. i ended up calling him an as*hole and i told him to grow up.. i soon got another whisper - him informing me on my arenanet reporting for harrassment. (he called me a noob cheater in main chat) wtf? ~ rhanoct

Don't mind it... was probably an IWAYer who thinks IWAYing to rank 9 is uber.

I don't see how its relivant that he was an IWAY warrior. There are people that are just assholes. Its not just in guild wars, step outside and you'll see the real world is the exact same. He could of been from balance and it would off been just as bad, ya? Just ignore assholes like that guy and please don't blame it on a group of players (IWAYers) that 1 person decides to be an asshole.

Also not all W/R are iway warriors. Ranger has some good support skills that could be useful to a warrior, other than tigers fury, charm animal and pred/eoe.

There are always gonna be jerks in the game. I hate people who use the any variation of the word newb in a serious way to insult someone. Think about it, what exactly are they saying? You aren't an expert in the game?...Maybe you have a life outside of video games and you're just playing to have fun? OMG n00b i'm a leet haxor and I have a small...ego. Don't think too much of it, whether being r9 made that guy a good player or not, he's a jerk and he shouldn't play the game. Actually, it's a strong possibility that that he just bought a shiny new account from ebay and suddenly he's better than people that are earning their fame. I wouldn't count on this thread staying opened long, but anyway, for every guy like that in the game, there are at least 10 normal people. Sometimes I laugh when I see almost r3 guys looking for groups, but it's only because I remember doing the same thing.

hm, i thought "im almost r3" doesnt work, now that anet included titles. you can always be asked to show ur title (which is r1,2,3,4, etc) and not flash some dumb emote. personally i find the whole rank thing (when people are actually paying attention to it) rather dumb (coming from a proud r0 ^_^).

and yes, just ignore, there are very weird people in this world, dont let this get to ya

Yup, you can't show rank 1 or 2, but there's a title for it, and a seperate progression bar for it. Go figure...

i cant show that to anyone because you need r3 to use the title/emote
someone told me "lol dont bother saying rank2 theres no such thing untill rank3" that, unfortunately, is kinda true...... maybe let you use the title at r2?

Very true, but I'd venture a guess that at least 90% of W/Rs in PvP areas are IWAY. I myself love going W/R sword - chaining skills with tiger's fury is fun and effective.

I think the easiest fix would be to let us ping our fame so others can see how much we have, like you can ping health and energy to the group. This would still make people want to attain levels of rank 3 and higher because then you get a title and emotes, but at least you could some how show off your progress at rank 1 and 2 on the way to rank3.

I'm currently at 122 fame and working my way to rank 3. It's pointless to advertise your rank or fame if your below rank 3 because you have no way to prove it.

lately I've been playing ViM Trapper in modded groups, and with a little work up front you can often tell the noobs from the seasoned players. It's still been a long hard road to get to rank 3. Alot also has to do with lucky team match ups, if you get some other random pugs, henchway, or groups that drop out at the beginning of the match you can get some quick fame. Thats not usually the case for me. The problem I see half the time is that I work for 30 minutes to try and get a decent group together. If we win our first round "great", then there's a chance that the group will stay together if we die in future rounds because the group already got a small taste of victory from the first round. But half the time, the group loses the first round, then half the team leaves and I'm back to square one on reorganizing the group with spirit and skill checks (very frustrating). People are so quick to give up after the first loss, and fail to realize that the group might have potential with a little practice.

Have fun. I'm rank 2 with 123 fame. Now a days its a task and a half to try and even get in a group.

get in a good alliance/guild that is tolerant enough to allow you to join their HA groups. worked for me

actually just last night we had 4 people on in the guild, so we all rolled shock wars and played henchway... grand total of 6 fame. we rolled a bloodspike, a balanced... and something else, i don't remember. that zaishen healer infuses with freaking heal other.

tell me about it! ive been playing for over 7months now, both prophecies and factions, and only started getting interested in HA lately. just because i only got started with HA, i only got 27fame r1! and now the majority of people out there dont whant you with them if you are not at least r3! how the hell am i to reach r3 for a shitty emote, if i cannot even get into a team! i call them "rank snobs". people with higher ranks should be helpful and understanding for players like me and you that have only started playing HA! but no, they call you "noobs", but they forget that they all too were beginners once with 0 fame!! some of them act like they have been born with rank6 and get all puffed up with their emotes!

so that made me try iway. i know lots of people hate iway, but im allowed to try anything, let me see for my self if its good or not

but even there: "glf iway r6+", invite self and emote!! goddamnit, they whant rank 6 players for iway!?! u dont need skill at all for that, and they kick me out of the team if i dont have enough fame? HA is no fun like that, how am i supposed to get ANY fame AT ALL???? its really sad, how great some people think they are, when they can emote, but does it make them a better person? well supposedly not... not after what lots of us have experienced...
